This week, members of the media and civil society gathered to develop skills and improve collaboration in efforts to tackle corruption. The programme was organised as part of the United Against Serious and Organised Corruption project.

Participants considered various topics including:

  • Recognising and understanding corruption
  • National and international laws relating to corruption
  • Investigative journalism techniques
  • Collaboration between media and civil society

Representatives of well known media outlets gathered with members of civil society corruption. Together they developed vital skills to address corruption in Malawi. The event also gave opportunities for representatives to establish new and collaborative ways of working.

We recognise that corruption in Malawi is serious and organised. As such, media and civil society need to be serious and organised in their response to tackle it and this programme has contributed to that.
