Working in partnership with Find Your Feet to promote participatory and inclusive development in Likoma and Rumphi districts. This project is supported by the Tilitonse Foundation with funding from the European Union.
The project seeks to address the issue of misuse of funds at local government level by developing grassroots advocacy for change. One key activity is the development of accountability clubs that can track public expenditure and hold duty bearers to account.
Project Outcomes
- Increased local government and communities’ knowledge of public expenditure tracking and local government systems.
- Informed local government structures engage the local councils on prudent use of public resources such as Local Development Fund, Constituency Development Fund and District Development Fund.
- Elected local government officials i.e. Members of Parliament and Councillors, will have improved capacity to and track expenditure of public resources.
